Xeranthemum cylindraceum Sibth. et Sm.

Flora Europaea annual, T, 2n=20, diploid? xeric, steppe and forest-steppe species (and from there up to the lower nemoral) western Palearctic Stellarietea mediae, Onopordion, Artmemisietea, Festucion valesiacae (?as indicated from Moldavia) R87, R34 habitats       A smaller and much spread version of Xeranthemum annuum which also has a terrible smell.
